Guy's Thanksgiving Feast.........Yum Yum!

Guy and I had a great time feasting on Chicken Nuggets and Pumpkin pie today at his pre-school. I was one of the mom volunteers today and I had a great time setting up for the BIG feast. I've never seen so many chicken nuggets.

Ms. Arleen's class got their craft on these past few weeks and Guy did a great job! He is showing off his toilet paper pumpkin he made for the table centerpieces, but he refused to wear his turkey hat...that's okay. He also made a really cute Thanksgiving Place mat from his hand prints.

Guy is not fond of me taking his picture, so to convince him to let me take a few shots I had to let him take control of the camera for a little while. Not that bad.....only cut off a smidge of my head.

Wow Guy that's a little up close and personal....that's cuz we love you Keaton!!!

I'm so glad Guy has friends in his pre-school class. Makes a huge difference!!
Best of friends.....Keaton, Guy & Riley

Who took this picture?!?! It's always fun when you have some surprise shots waiting for you. Nice picture Guy.

Umm....this picture reminds me a little too much of your daddy. He he he :)

I asked Guy what he is Thankful for and he said, "I'm thankful for everything I have." So that sums it up. We had a great time feasting with friends and enjoying our time together.
Happy Thanksgiving 2010!

Papa Giorgio's 50th Birthday Celebration

On Monday October 11th we celebrated Pappa Giorgio's 50th Birthday. We started the celebrating at Matt's soccer game. Matt did awesome and had like 3-4 goals. He was so cute. Every time he scored a goal he would turn and look at Toni and Dave with the sweetest and most sincere smile. After Matt's game we headed to Babes in Carrollton. When I am in the mood for good old home cooking this is my favorite restaurant. Nick's favorite is the Chicken Fried stake and I love it all, but this last time I got Hickory Smoked Chicken....tender, moist and falling right off the bone. Sooo so good! Then we love the all you can eat, family style sides, which include; creamy corn, buttery green beans, and mash potatoes and gravy. Oh don't forget the homemade biscuits, butter and honey! It's dessert. No seriously we never order dessert we just eat the biscuits, butter and honey!

Of course the restaurant found out we were celebrating Papa's birthday and came over to sing to him. His birthday treat was a biscuit with honey drizzled on top. Told ya! So he had to stand up and dance to the chicken song while wearing a chicken hat!! Thanks grandpa for doing your dance and not letting us down. Good memories!

What a great picture!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!! We just want to say how much we LOVE you and are so thankful we have you in our lives. You are so good to our boys and they love and adore you more then you know. Thanks for being YOU and we look forward to many more birthday celebrations with you. Remember you are only as old as you feel!

Highland Village Fountains!!

Going to the HV Fountains started last summer, 2009, as a family favorite evening activity. Last year we enjoyed going with the Gross family.
They have now moved and we miss them :(
We hope all is well in Arizona!

When summer hits we go almost every other week. The boys love it and we do too. Sometimes we catch dinner at Blue Goose, then after dinner we walk the 20 steps to the fountains and let the boys play for a while as Nick and I get to relax or play with them, then we finish strong with Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Yummo! They have my new favorite shake. If you love a cookies and mint combo you will love this shake. It has Milk & Cookies ice cream and Mint Chocolate ice cream blended with milk. Did I say Yummo?!?! I love how HV set up that area with the fountains and restaurants right by each other. Pretty Smart!

Grandpa and Grandma G took us out to eat one time and then to the fountains with Charlie, so we got to play with her and we had so much fun with Char Char!

Date Night = Dinner + Wicked!!

Last Thursday, June 17th, we had our first date night with Guy & Lisa and Dave & Toni. Date night = no kids! We had a great time catching up without the kids. We love our children but we need to get that adult time in every once in a while. We piled into Dave & Toni's Sequoia and went to dinner at Red Lobster in Lewisville. Can I say yummy cheddar biscuits! If you've had these you know what I'm talking about. Then we headed over to Fair Park to go to the fabulous musical Wicked!! I love musicals. We had great seats and enjoyed every bit of it. Thanks to Dave and Toni for treating us to a wonderful evening!!

My favorite song is "Defying Gravity" I get chills just reading the lyrics.
Enjoy watching the performance from the Tony Awards.

ELPHABA
Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!

It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you can't pull me down!

GLINDA
Can't I make you understand?
You're having delusions of grandeur:

ELPHABA
I'm through accepting limits
''cause someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try, I'll never know!
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love I guess I've lost
Well, if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost!
I'd sooner buy
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I'm defying gravity
And you can't pull me down:
(spoken) Glinda - come with me. Think of what we could
do: together.

(sung) Unlimited
Together we're unlimited
Together we'll be the greatest team
There's ever been
Glinda -
Dreams, the way we planned 'em

GLINDA
If we work in tandem:

BOTH
There's no fight we cannot win
Just you and I
Defying gravity
With you and I
Defying gravity

ELPHABA
They'll never bring us down!
(spoken) Well? Are you coming?

GLINDA
I hope you're happy
Now that you're choosing this

ELPHABA
(spoken) You too
(sung) I hope it brings you bliss

BOTH
I really hope you get it
And you don't live to regret it
I hope you're happy in the end
I hope you're happy, my friend:

ELPHABA So if you care to find me
Look to the western sky!
As someone told me lately:
"Ev'ryone deserves the chance to fly!"
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who'd ground me
Take a message back from me
Tell them how I am
Defying gravity
I'm flying high
Defying gravity
And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz
No Wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down!

GLINDA
I hope you're happy!

CITIZENS OF OZ
Look at her, she's wicked!
Get her!

ELPHABA
:Bring me down!

CITIZENS OF OZ
No one mourns the wicked
So we've got to bring her

ELPHABA
Ahhh!

CITIZENS OF OZ
Down!

Family Camp Out!!

We packed up the Taurus, Friday, April 30th and headed out to Isle Du Boi at Lake Ray Roberts for our first camp out with the kids. The Alva's and Pappa & Grandma G joined us for the Friday activities. We had perfect Texas weather. Low 80's during the day with a slight breeze and when the sun set it made for perfect campfire weather. Campfires are one of my favorite parts of the entire camping experience. I could've sat by the fire all night and enjoyed watching the red and orange flames dance around the logs while listening to it. Love IT!!

The first picture is of us setting up camp. Wait, where is Vince? Oh I think he is behind the picnic table eating rocks and dirt. Yum!
This is the view of the lake from our camp site. The kids loved walking down the path to the water. Lake Ray Roberts is our families favorite lake to fish. Thanks to Grandpa teaching Nick all his sweet fishing skills. Now Nick gets to teach Guy & Vince. When we woke up Saturday morning Nick and Guy went fishing at our camp site and then headed down to the the fishing pier. They caught 4 fish, a couple of crappie and sand bass. Guy threw all the fish back to safety and had a blast with dad. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures because Vince and I stayed behind to clean up after breakfast and then take a little nap. I had to take advantage of napping under the trees with a cool breeze. Love it!!

Friday afternoon the kids played at the "beach" :-) LOL! This is what we call a Texas Beach, the edge of the lake. It does have a mixture of sand and rocks. The kids loved it, so that's all that matters.

The kids played at the park! Here's a close up of my Mountain Man, aka Vince, climbing the rocks. He is so brave. My Guy is a little more cautious. You wouldn't have found him climbing and jumping off the rocks at Vince's age. Sound like Nick?

Going down the slide with Grandma's help. Thanks Grandma G!

For dinner Matt & Cherise whipped up a yummy dutch oven dinner and I made peach cobbler for dessert. Then our late night snack was smore's. It's not a real camp out unless you finish strong with some ooey gooey chocolaty smore's. Right?!?!

Yummo! Of course our Guy wanted to wash his hands right after he was done because it was a little too gooey for him. Gotta love him.

It was a little chilly when we woke up Saturday morning, so you can guess what my first request of the day was?? A Campfire! Nick and I started gathering the wood and it started right up. You might notice Guy hiding his face in the camp chair. He's not really a morning person.
Sounds like ME.

Here's my happy morning child. Isn't he cute!!

This is the only close up picture of me while camping.
Now you know why there is only one.
I don't do makeup while camping.

Enjoying the campfire with my boys...and loving it!

We had a great time. Guy's a fan and keeps asking about going camping again. Vince ate so much dirt that his diapers were a little interesting for the next 24 hrs.

It only took us a week to get the kids back on schedule, but it was totally worth it!!!

How many times did I say, "Love It?" It's because I really had a great time with my family!!
